The Agra Risk Wheatland Kings are pleased to announce the acquisition of power forward Brayden Thurlow from the Merritt Centennials, adding another high-calibre player to the organization’s growing roster ahead of the 2026–27 Heritage Junior Hockey League season.
Thurlow represents another significant addition to a Kings roster that has continued to take shape through a series of high-calibre signings and acquisitions this offseason. The power forward brings a strong combination of skill, experience and proven offensive production to the Wheatland lineup.
In 40 games with the Centennials during the 2025–26 season, Thurlow recorded 26 points. The season prior, he posted an impressive 32 points in 41 games, demonstrating his consistency as an offensive contributor over his two most recent junior seasons.
The addition of Thurlow gives the Kings another proven offensive option and adds further depth throughout the top end of the Wheatland forward group as the organization continues to build its roster for the upcoming season.
“Brayden is a player we believe can make a significant impact on our lineup,” said Kings General Manager Cody Holdaway. “He brings a combination of skill, experience and offensive ability that will give us added depth throughout our top end. His production over the past two seasons speaks for itself, and we’re excited about what he can bring to our group.”
Thurlow’s acquisition continues an active offseason for the Kings, who have placed an emphasis on adding quality players capable of contributing immediately while building a deep and competitive roster.
