The Agra Risk Wheatland Kings are pleased to announce the acquisition of 2006-born forward Nash Wassing from the Kamloops Storm of the BCHC (formerly the KIJHL), following a recent trade from the Grand Forks Border Bruins.
Wassing brings a strong physical presence and offensive ability to the Kings lineup, adding valuable depth and experience to the forward group.
A familiar face to the Wheatland organization, Wassing previously affiliated with the Kings during his U18 AAA career with Bowmark before making the transition to junior hockey full-time with the Grand Forks Border Bruins in the 2024–25 season.
The Okotoks product spent two seasons with the Border Bruins, appearing in 40 games each season for a total of 80 regular-season games. During that time, Wassing recorded 62 points and helped Grand Forks capture a KIJHL Championship in 2025.
“ We’re excited to add a player like Nash to our lineup,” said Kings General Manager Cody Holdaway. “He brings size, skill, and a proven ability to contribute offensively at the junior level. Adding a player of his calibre gives us more depth and goal-scoring ability throughout our top end, while continuing our commitment to building a championship-calibre team here in Strathmore.”
Wassing’s familiarity with the Wheatland organization, combined with his junior hockey experience and championship pedigree, makes him a valuable addition as the Kings continue to prepare for the upcoming season.
