Connor Boyd Joins Wheatland Kings as Assistant Coach

The Agra Risk Wheatland Kings are excited to announce the addition of Connor Boyd to the coaching staff as the team’s new Assistant Coach ahead of the upcoming HJHL season.

Boyd arrives in Strathmore with a well-rounded hockey background, bringing both playing and operational experience to the organization. His resume includes time as a player at the AAA and Junior A levels, providing him with a firsthand understanding of the demands and culture of high-level hockey. In addition to his playing career, Boyd has also worked on the management side of the game, serving as the Business Manager for the Drumheller Dragons of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL). His experience in both roles gives him a unique perspective on player development, team culture, and the day-to-day demands of running a successful junior hockey program.

“Connor is a great fit for the direction we’re headed as an organization,” said General Manager Cody Holdaway “He brings a mix of on-ice knowledge and off-ice professionalism that will help continue pushing our program forward. We’re excited to welcome him to the Kings family.”

As Assistant Coach, Boyd will play a key role in the team’s development model, helping guide players both on and off the ice. He will work closely with the rest of the coaching staff to create a competitive environment built on accountability, development, and community connection.

Boyd’s appointment comes as the Kings gear up for what promises to be an exciting season, continuing to build on the momentum established over the past year.
