The Agra Risk Wheatland Kings are proud to announce that Strathmore has been selected as the official host of the 2025 Heritage Junior Hockey League All-Star Game.
For the first time since 2018, the HJHL All-Star Game is back, and it’s coming home to Strathmore. This will mark the first time in seven years that the league’s top players will gather for a full All-Star showcase, and we’re honoured to bring it to our community.
As an organization built on the support of our town, our fans, and our volunteers, we couldn’t be more excited to help lead the charge in bringing this event back to life.
“This is a big win for our community and our fans,” said Kings General Manager Cody Holdaway.. “We’ve always believed in the power of junior hockey to bring people together, and now we get to host the league’s most exciting event. We can’t wait to show the rest of the HJHL what Strathmore is all about.
The HJHL All-Star Game hasn’t been played since 2018, and its return signals a renewed commitment from the league to celebrate talent, sportsmanship, and the next generation of elite players. After years of pandemic disruptions and a shifting league calendar, 2025 marks a new chapter, and Strathmore gets to host the very first page.
Selections for the 2025 HJHL All-Star Game will be determined based on team standings at the midway point of the regular season. Here’s how player representation will work:
1st Place Team in each division – 5 players
2nd Place Team – 4 players
3rd Place Team – 3 players
4th, 5th, and 6th Place Teams – 2 players each
Goaltenders – Chosen by the HJHL based on in-season statistics
This format ensures the league’s most deserving players are recognized and rewarded, while also giving fans a glimpse of the top-tier talent spread across the HJHL.
Why Strathmore? As a proud member of this community, we can say with confidence: there’s no better place for a celebration of junior hockey than right here.
Strathmore is more than just a hockey town. With a population of just over 13,000, we’ve hosted some of Alberta’s biggest events, from the iconic Strathmore Stampede to provincial-level tournaments. Our fans are loyal, our businesses are supportive, and our volunteers are second to none.
This event is about more than what happens on the ice, it’s about showing the rest of the province who we are.
Buckle up, Strathmore. The best in the HJHL are coming.
